The Zoo

This Saturday ended up being such a nice day that we decided to go to the zoo!! Emmi sure didn't forget either as her memory is not letting anything get by her. Bennie had said Friday morning that we would go to the zoo "tomorrow" however she thought she was going then...at that moment. So when she showed up at school...you can imagine the disappointment. Saturday morning rolls around and she was still saying "zoo, zoo mommy daddy." Gone are the days you could trick her and she would forget in about 3 minutes. She knows and remembers EVERYTHING!!! So we had a wonderful day at the zoo thanks to JuJu and Papaw who purchased a year round zoo membership for the Lunsfords!! We can go anytime we want now and not feel guilty for only staying a couple hours. Emmi had a lot of fun. I'm not sure if she had more fun watching the animals or running around and up all the ramps and sidewalks. She loves to run with her arms backwards like she is flying. It could possibly give her more stabilization for her uncoordinated self. See for yourself......

All in Good Fun

Well it looks like everyone loved seeing Aunt Debbie hullahoop her heart out. It wasn't my decision to post it on the blog, however I had multiple requests and instead of emaling it I just went ahead and posted it so it would be easier. Hope you don't mind A. Debbie :) It really was a fun night and I am glad we got together!! Emmi is doing well tomorrow I will post a couple videos of her singing and counting!! I would do it tonight but she has retired for the evening and I forgot to do it. Bennie and I have also set a world record for us. Usually we have been known to go out to eat instead of staying home for dinners, but we have eaten at home for 8 straight days in a row (minus when we went to Victoria to visit Bennie's Great Grandmother this past weekend). I guess part of the new years goals is to budget better and spend our money more wisely blah blah blah. Anywho, check back tomorrow for more videos.... God willing Emmi wants to participate at that certain moment. If she doesn't I will just keep posting videos of Aunt Debbie, Grandma, and Aunt Heather and their Wii moments.

Sad, Smart Weekend

Well, it was a very sad weekend as Mom is really in Tennessee with Dad :( It is sad because Emmi and her were very close and I'm not sure how Emmi is going to take it. Also, it is sad because I worked with her everyday and came home and had dinner with her everyday for the last two years. We did everything together so I am taking this quite hard. Emmi doesn't notice quite yet. She keeps going to her door and wanting to go in "Mimi's room" but we steer her away. Emmi is doing quite well and is talking everyone's ear off. Bennie and I just kind of look at eachother in surprise because we are not sure if she has taken a breath between words. She sings many songs including Happy Birthday, No more monkeys on the bed, and ABC's, which are her current likings. Today she really surprised us because she is counting from numbers 1-10. Bennie and I were saying that she needs to go to bed at seven tonight because she didn't get a nap, which she responded loudly "eight" like she was trying to bargain for it!! She is so funny and smart. Bennie had her in the bath and she would say the number and hand him the foam number at the same time. I will put up pictures but left the camera at Aunt Heather's house. I will put up pics of Christmas and also try to upload a video of Emmi counting sometime soon. We all had a great Christmas seeing everyone, however I want my mother back home!!!! I think we all miss her but know my Dad is happy to have her there!! Love you Mom and thank you so much for everything that you have done for us!! You are truly special and will miss you until February, work will not be the same.......

Ike 2nd Posting

This is a picture of Bennie's grandparents backyard. They had 3 oaks fall in one place!! None hit there house!!! It looks like a freiking jungle!!!! The other is a picture of our house. The limb was catapulted from the tree in the back yard, used our roof as like a pole vault, causing holes, and then ended up in the front yard. The next pic is a pic of bennies parents neighbor who had 2 pine trees come through his house and take out power lines that are in his pool as of now!!

Hurricane Ike

Well Hurricane Ike came and went. It left a path of destruction here in Houston. I have always wanted to live through a hurricane, and I am glad that I experienced the actual Hurricane, however I do not want any of the consequences of having one. Only having been without power for 10 hours, I am eager to have it back. Only they are predicting that power won't be restored for possible weeks. AHHHHH!!!! I just want to be the meteorolist broadcaster that lives the excitement and then can fly first class home to my own home with electricity, warm water, and A.C. OH, well . It was exciting with gusts up to about 100 mph. I do admit I was scared and I was not excited at that time. We had five trees fall just around the vacinity of
Bennie's parents house. My parent's house experienced roof damage and subsequent flooding of our room, which inundated our bed and matress with water!!! Our neighborhood looks like a war zone!!! See some pics for yourself.....video documentary to come as well once power has been restored and the internet connection isnt so lame. I am able to use a generator at Bennie's parents house to post these pics.
