Mothers Day Weekend

I had a lovely 3rd Mothers day, and I hope everyone did as well. We had a very nice weekend, even though I could not be with my mother. However we did have a great day with Judy and we played Yahtzee!!! I think I lost every time, but who's counting? (besides Judy and Bennie, the competitive ones) Then Sunday we took a nice ride down to beautiful (not) Galveston. It is still pretty beat up from Hurricane Ike and is nowhere near what is was. They have basically rebuild the major tourist attractions like restaurants, hotels, ect. Emmi had a blast at the beach!! She is such a natural swimmer, and has no fear in doing it!! We also ate at the Rainforest Cafe which scared the bejesus out of her!! We even lucked out and the manager gave us a free volcano desert and a free ride on their river adventure ride just for scooting over to make room for a bigger table!! (a approx value of $30) Here are a few pics:

Emmi playing at the beach!!!

Notice to those who are unaware: When you go down to Galveston and get really sandy, all of the pavilions have been destroyed where you once showered and rinsed off... so.....you pretty much have to ride home sandy unless you stay there at a hotel... repeating showers are not rebuilt yet.

Once again there are no showers:

This is where the showers were located, completely obliterated!
This is the driveway to the Flagship, also completely blown out:
This is a section of the Flagship blown out as well, still not torn down yet!

Emmi in Tennesee

So.... fast forward through the last month or so.... Emmi had ear tube surgery, her 2nd BirthdaY, Easter egg hunting, a PINK tractor bed, and now her first plane ride to visit MIMI and POPS!!! So we are here safely and on our first day we went to a safari. She has been non-stop all day!!!! Here are a few pics of us today:

Gig Em

So we were talking about Mimi coming in a few days so she started showing me with her hands how many days until she gets here..... however, she can't do the number two sign and it looked like a longhorn sign. I said oh no not longhorns we say Gig Em Aggies with a thumbs up so she kept doing it and doing it. I didn't teach her the cougar sign as I can't even remember it. All I know is our sign is because our mascot at U of H lost a toe.... how triumphant. Anywho, the video is cute and Pops will like it. We are excited to see Mimi Thursday night!!!! Beware of "Earthala" at times, the name we call Emmi when she regresses to the terrible twos!!!! We are also excited to be registering Emmi at the Windwood School for next year!! I think she will really like it there.... I know its not as good as hanging with PawPaw but what other choice does she have short of going on the ChuChu Train. Bennie will be waking up at like 3 am to beat all the other moms for a spot. Maybe he should do a documentary on the big fight.

Showing me with her hands how many days till Mimi comes

Repeating Gig Em Aggies for the next hour or so:

Energizer Emmi

Emmi is just talking away these days and almost everyday I have a good Emmi story to tell about the funny things she says on the way to school!! She is putting together sentences and it is blowing me away. She is really starting to also get into the terrible twos with her fits and tantrums and "I do it!!!" . Put she is still my little baby girl and it gets a little challenging but then in a few seconds she is back to her perfect sweet self. We are about to have to whip out the time out phase, up until now we really haven't had to use it.... but I think it is overdue. Ahhhh!! Oh well, here are a few pics of sweet Emmi and a wonderful video.

Emmi says Mimi in Tennesee with Pops its hard to pick out....

Emmi singing Jesus Loves Me.... but is stuck on the part "the bible tells me so"

The Zoo

This Saturday ended up being such a nice day that we decided to go to the zoo!! Emmi sure didn't forget either as her memory is not letting anything get by her. Bennie had said Friday morning that we would go to the zoo "tomorrow" however she thought she was going then...at that moment. So when she showed up at school...you can imagine the disappointment. Saturday morning rolls around and she was still saying "zoo, zoo mommy daddy." Gone are the days you could trick her and she would forget in about 3 minutes. She knows and remembers EVERYTHING!!! So we had a wonderful day at the zoo thanks to JuJu and Papaw who purchased a year round zoo membership for the Lunsfords!! We can go anytime we want now and not feel guilty for only staying a couple hours. Emmi had a lot of fun. I'm not sure if she had more fun watching the animals or running around and up all the ramps and sidewalks. She loves to run with her arms backwards like she is flying. It could possibly give her more stabilization for her uncoordinated self. See for yourself......

All in Good Fun

Well it looks like everyone loved seeing Aunt Debbie hullahoop her heart out. It wasn't my decision to post it on the blog, however I had multiple requests and instead of emaling it I just went ahead and posted it so it would be easier. Hope you don't mind A. Debbie :) It really was a fun night and I am glad we got together!! Emmi is doing well tomorrow I will post a couple videos of her singing and counting!! I would do it tonight but she has retired for the evening and I forgot to do it. Bennie and I have also set a world record for us. Usually we have been known to go out to eat instead of staying home for dinners, but we have eaten at home for 8 straight days in a row (minus when we went to Victoria to visit Bennie's Great Grandmother this past weekend). I guess part of the new years goals is to budget better and spend our money more wisely blah blah blah. Anywho, check back tomorrow for more videos.... God willing Emmi wants to participate at that certain moment. If she doesn't I will just keep posting videos of Aunt Debbie, Grandma, and Aunt Heather and their Wii moments.
